Hello you Beautiful Person!

My name is Emily Beth, the author (& picture poster) of The Autism Teacher.

head shot

It is my deepest aspiration to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder work towards a life where they can live as independently as possible, with a positive self-concept, & surrounded by supportive friends. Doesn’t that sound amazing? A large part of working towards something so special is through the empowerment of families, teachers, & therapists. My recipe for this includes…

  • Feeding lots of love & encouragement. We need it! This is a TOUGH journey & these kids need us. You are making a difference & I want to lift you up for that!
  • Sharing meaningful/relatable experiences. We need to hear it! You are not alone.
  • Supplying awesome resources. We are looking anyways! Seriously, ALWAYS looking.
  • Providing FREE tips/tools for success. Goodness gracious do we need free!!

They say “teaching is a work of heart,” but for those of you like me…teaching is my WHOLE heart! Through my experience in a self-contained, Autism classroom there are many honest teaching attempts that require several rounds of modification. In the midst of all these trials, errors, & success stories, I realized that part of committing myself to being a true advocate for kids on the Spectrum means that I must shareI must share all that has been proven to work (via observation & data collection, of course) with other teachers & the Autism community at large; otherwise I am only helping a special but very small network of people in a world that needs so much more.

So here we are, in this together, for the kids.

Thank you for being here, truly. Whether your interest in the world of Autism is small or overwhelming, you are a special person to me. Let’s make a difference.
